Access to the Library (Upadtes)
The Library is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The covid-prevention rules in library:
- wearing face masks (or other covers) covering the nose and mouth
- keeping physical distance, i.e. a distance of 1.5 m from the other person
- hand disinfection in the machine located at the main entrance
- People in quarantine, illness and with elevated temperature, shortness of breath, cough or other symptoms that may suggest COVID-19 or seasonal flu are not allowed to use the library
How to register remotely to the library?
Registration to the library is possible only electronically for students, doctoral students and employees of UPJPII (the status of an active student and doctoral student is verified on the basis of data available in USOS). To register electronically, download the library registration form, print it, fill it in, scan it and send it to wypozyczalnia@upjp2.edu.pl.
You will receive feedback on the creation of an account to the e-mail address provided in the form.
You can now order books from the catalog and return them as well as use of electronic respurces
The use of electronic resources
Students and employees of UPJPII enrolled in the Main Library of UPJPII and having an active library account have the option of remote access to electronic resources subscribed to UPJPII. Access to databases is possible from the library's website via the Electronic resources tab. To use electronic resources, you need to find an interesting database and log in via the HAN system using your library card number and PESEL number. A valuable source of full versions of publications is also the Digital Library run by the Main Library of UPJPII. The items published in it are largely available in open access. In addition, we recommend the Interesting Links to all those who study and work remotely, which enables quick access to several hundred different sources, thanks to which you can find interesting information.
Scans on request
Researchers, PhD students and students of UPJPII have the option to order a scan of the most necessary items (journal article, book chapter, up to 20% of the book). The number of ordered items may not exceed 3 items at a time, not more often than 1 per week. Orders can be made at skany@upjp2.edu.pl.

Unique Holy Father John Paul II collection
The rich gifts from the private library of the Holy Father John Paul II are of exceptional importance for the Library. They were brought to Krakow from the Vatican in the years 1994–2005, in which the Pope's Personal Secretary, Fr. Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz. The gift includes publications donated to the Holy Father by private persons and institutions from all over the world. Among the 17,000 volumes, some are copies with personal dedications to the Pope and copies available as the only ones in Poland. Due to its uniqueness, readers can use this gift only on site, although access to it is free, because, like most of the collections of the Main Library of UPJPII, it is displayed in free access
