Exams Winter 2020
After 15 weeks of intensive work, the time of exams is coming. We have prepared for you an excerpt from the Regulations of Higher Studies at the Pontifical University of John Paul II, which allows you to orient yourself in the organization of Exams.
Dates
The session consists of an exam session: 28.01 (Tuesday) -10.02 (Monday) and the correction session (15.02-22.02). Second semester of the year 2019/2020 will start 24.02.2020.
Before exam
To take part in the exam, you must meet the criteria specified by the examiner and additionally submit an index and exam card. The examiner may also ask for ID card.
Basic dates are generally set in the exam session. The examiner can set several dates for the basic date, but the student has the basic date only once. The examination session may, at the student's justified request, be extended by the head of studies until the end of the retake session, provided that such an application is submitted by the date of the planned last day of the examination session.
Correction deadline
Correction deadlines are set in a correction session. The correction session may be extended at the student's justified request by a maximum of 14 days from the planned date of its completion, i.e. in the current year until 07/03/2020 (Saturday). An application for extension of a correction session should be submitted at the latest on the last day of the correction session.
Zero / early deadline
In addition, the teacher may set an additional date for the exam before the exam session, not earlier than 2 weeks before the exam session begins (14/01/2020). An unsatisfactory grade obtained within the time limit set before the exam session is not entered, the student is entitled to pass the course on the basic term.
Absence from the exam
In the case of an justified absence, the examiner sets another date for the basic term no later than 14 days from the date on which the reason for the justified absence ceases. Unjustfied absence from the exam on the basic date does not constitute grounds for entering an unsatisfactory grade, means only the loss of the basic term. Unexcused absence from correction examination means failure to pass the subject. The student has the right to provide excuses for absences up to 7 days from the date of the exam. The examiner decides about the acceptance of the justification, however, his decision can be appealed to the head of studies.
After exams
The completed index and examination card should be submitted up to 3 business days from the date of the end of the correction session
Schedule of exams
The exam schedule will be published on the website.
We wish you good luck in your exams
